(At this point in time you may be prompted to enter the <A HREF="Password.htm">password</A>.) Step 2: Form entitled Creating a New Task now appears. Choose one of the following options and click on Next: ò Shut down the computer - (Jump to step 4) ò Terminate an application - (Continue with the next step) Step 3: Choosing the application Addict should terminate. Suppose you want to use Addict to terminate Windows Solitaire ®*: ò If Solitaire is not already running, start it the way you usually do, then repeat step 2. ò Without closing Solitaire, switch to Addict. <CENTER><TABLE BORDER=0 COLS=3 HEIGHT="132" > <TR> <TD WIDTH="147"><IMG SRC="AltTab.gif" HEIGHT=112 WIDTH=147 ALIGN=RIGHT></TD> <TD WIDTH="20"></TD> <TD WIDTH="100%">The easiest way to do this is by holding Alt and pressing Tab until Addict is selected like in the picture at left.</TD> </TR> </TABLE></CENTER> ò Click on the New tab in Addict. ò It will either contain a list of all programs running in the system, or just an empty textbox. <CENTER><TABLE BORDER=0 WIDTH="100%" > <TR> <TD ROWSPAN="2" WIDTH="20"></TD> <TD>The name of the application you wish to terminate is "Solitaire" (without the quotation marks). (Button Next will not be available until you have provided a valid name.) If your application does not have a title bar, you may have to select its name from the list. To toggle between list and textbox mode, alter Addict's <A HREF="Options.htm">options</A>.</TD> </TR> </TABLE></CENTER> ò The next time you wish to terminate Solitaire, you can click on the Recent tab. It contains a list of all the applications Addict has previously terminated. Step 4: ò Let's say it's now 4pm and you want the computer off by 5:30pm (or you would like not to play Solitaire past that time, if that is what you chose in step 3). You enter 1 hour and 30 minutes in the first set of textboxes. Addict will now turn off the computer (or terminate Solitaire) at 5:30pm. ò Of course, after this happens at 5:30pm you will be able to turn the computer (or Solitaire) right back on. If you would instead like to ensure that the computer (Solitaire) will not be used from 5:30pm until, for example, 9:30pm, put a checkmark and enter 4 hours and 0 minutes in the second set of textboxes. ò Lastly, choose who can delete (cancel) this task. You can learn more about the meaning of this "override" property in the <A HREF="Task.htm">description of a task</A>. Press Finish and you have created the task.
